The popularity of eSports has developed drastically and it’s making marketers across the globe hungry for a taste of the gaming world.
The increasing dominance of eSports throughout the entertainment industry, teamed with its growing opulence diminishes its once primary stereotype.
The global eSports financial ecosystem is expected to generate $905.6 million this year with incessant growth expected according to a new report from Newzoo. The market researcher predicts revenues to reach a staggering $1.4 billion by 2020.
Unsurprisingly, brand investment is expected to increase by an impressive 48% this year alone and with Vision Esports recently closing a $38 million investment in eSports, it’s clear investments are set to prosper.
Notably, it is expected that roughly 6.6 billion hours of eSports video content will be watched in 2018 with audiences reaching 380 million.
In short, the eSports craze is only just beginning.
